A great evening in Havana! Lively, serious discussion on Arnold August’s available books CUBA AND ITS NEIGHBOURS: DEMOCRACY IN MOTION and CUBA–U.S. RELATIONS: OBAMA AND BEYOND that also includes Trump’s Cuba’s policy, a theme of much interest. The municipal elections were taking place at the time in Cuba. The discussion based on my book regarding elections and democracy in Cuba provoked some serious debate over different views.
Most of the non-Cubans attending were Americans visiting as tourists. Many of them purchased the book. Most importantly, the book store procured the publications to sell to the many English-language Havana visitors.
